What photographs help with a car body repair estimate?
Clear photographs can save time at the start of an enquiry. They do not replace an inspection, but they can show where the damage is, how far it spreads and which surrounding parts may also need attention.
Begin with the whole vehicle
Take a clear photograph showing the damaged side or end of the vehicle. This gives the close-up images context and helps identify the panel or component involved.
Show the full panel and nearby parts
Include the complete panel, adjoining panels, lamps, trim and panel gaps where relevant. For impact damage, photograph more than the obvious mark because nearby parts may also have moved or been affected.
Add close-ups from different angles
Use natural, even light where possible and avoid heavy reflections. Take a straight-on close-up and angled views that show dents, ripples, cracks, chips or changes in the paint surface.
Do not hide the damage with filters or image editing. Accurate photographs are more useful than flattering ones.
Include the vehicle details
Provide the make, model, registration and a short explanation of what happened. Mention any earlier repair in the same area if you know about it.
